What is a healthy dinner plate?

A healthy dinner plate is a technique to keep track of serving sizes without having to count them. In the first step, a 7-inch plate should be used for children, while a 9-inch plate should be used for adults. Secondly, divide the plate in half and fill one half with vegetables. Vegetables are divided into two types: starchy (such as potatoes, corn, peas, or plantains) and non-starchy (such as zucchini, jicama, cucumbers, carrots, or salad).

After that fill half your plate with non-starchy vegetables. And the other quarter with whole grains or starches like brown rice, corn, beans, or whole-wheat pasta if you have diabetes. Then add some lean protein like tofu, grilled fish, or chicken to the remaining quarter. What about putting a tortilla or some bread on the side?

I know it's difficult to give up! Instead, feed yourself a smaller piece of the remaining starches on your plate. Add a drink like unsweetened coffee, tea, or a glass of milk to include some of your meals. But confine mind that drinking 8 ounces of milk. Eating another tortilla or a slice of bread has the same effect on your blood sugar.

Water with a squeeze of lemon or lime is another option. You have tons of alternatives when it involves how you create your plate, as long as you remember to follow these healthy principles, and you're good to go! You might be wondering how you can incorporate the plate method into vegetable beef soup or other dishes. Simply keep the same concept in mind.

Fill your pot with low-sodium broth and a variety of nutritious veggies such as corn, cabbage, zucchini, carrots, onions, and a little amount of lean meat. For each individual, you're serving, put a quarter of your dish on the table. Add your favorite kind of bread on the side if desired, and you have got yourself a healthy dinner. Mm-hmm, have fun!
